Playing around with a more tradional 'cartoon' style. If you don't get the joke, Alberto Vargas was one of the most popular '

in-up' artists, working for Esquire magazine in the 1940's. His work (along with collegues like Petty) helped to define what we now term the classic 40's 'Glamour Girl.' During WWII, many of his paintings were reproduced on the noses of the aircraft, and even today, Virgin Airlines was using one of his pieces on the nose of their plane last I saw.

Love the joke. I've been a fan of his work for years, and I immediately got it. Though I'm more familiar with his stuff from Playboy (got a bunch of issues from the sixties, since women looked better back then).

I actually had a conversation with my mom about it recently because she wanted to use it for x-mas cards and I said I wasn't sure everyone would get it. Her response was too bad for them

I collect old Playboys just for the Vargas girls.
