in-up' artists, working for Esquire magazine in the 1940's. His work (along with collegues like Petty) helped to define what we now term the classic 40's 'Glamour Girl.' During WWII, many of his paintings were reproduced on the noses of the aircraft, and even today, Virgin Airlines was using one of his pieces on the nose of their plane last I saw.
