Edit 11/7/05: This is now the 'Classic Retro Girl Calendar.' Originally released for 2005, it will be available now for whatever the current year is, switching to the new year each September.
*Note: Not Vector Art. See media description*
I can't believe I finally get to say this but...
It's Done!!!!!
After 3 months and more hours than I care to remember, the Retro Girls Calendar is finished. What you are looking at here are the front and back covers. For those of you who asked how you would be able to get a copy, as soon as it goes through the print approval process, this is the page where you will find the link to purchase.
For those of you that might be seeing this for the first time, this is my tribute to the retro/pop art and fashions of yesteryear.
To all the people who supported me along the way on this one, I can't thank you enough. Without your enthusiasm, I couldn't have done it.
Medium: Original sketchs drawn over in Photoshop 6 with the pen tool, not vectors since the lines and shapes rasterize. It is similar process, but by devart definitions, anything that rasterizes is not vector art. Details added with brush tool. '2005 Retro Girl' text drawn with pentool in Photoshop, 'Calendar' text drawn with calk tool in Painter8

I'm too lazy to comment on every retro girl so I'll just comment here
Amazing! I just want to say that I love this style and the way you expressed it. I'll try to buy a copy of the calendar if I can afford it. Being a broke college student isn't fun

If we shadows have offended, Think but this, and all is mended, That you have but slumber'd here, While these visions did appear. And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream...
Nice work those pictures are really great (browsed them all), I'm not surprised at all that this took three months to do. I'm glad December had no Xmas related things in it, like presents or something.. It's so dull to feature December with Christmas.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More
