Artist's Comments

An older fanart piece I did about 6 months ago now. InuYasha from the anime/manga of the same name as he is first introduced, pinned to the sacred tree. I have long been a fan ot Art Nouveau and it struck me that this solemn moment might work well in that style. Yeah, I love seeing him in action, but for some reason, I'm still drawn back to that first look on the tree ;)

The medium is gauche paint with silver caligraphers ink. This is a photograph of the actual piece itself as the original does not scan well due to the silver ink.

The character of InuYasha is copyright Rumiko Takahashi

*EDIT 11/04/04: I've been meaning to get a better quality image of this one for quite some time. The original one I had up was a photo and the glare from the flash picked up the silver ink, but I think a bit too much. Also, the colors were somewhat distorted. This is a scan in two parts as it would not fit entirely on the scanner bed.

If anyone really misses the old photo of this piece, I can toss it back up in scraps.

Ultimate Evil= Yaoi/Yuri, Emotionally/Physically/Spiritually abusive bitch characters paIred off with meek albeit powerful main male characters that are slightly clueless.

And manipulative bastards that think they are god.

LOL, I see we figured out how to get the smilies to work ;)

Too bad about the flash bouncing off the ink, but it still looks very, very nice!

Many try to make artnouveau/anime combi's, but few succeed like you do: this is so wonderfully well done, i love the flowyness of the tree, and you can feel it's a special moment in the series. (i love that moment too btw ;) THe silver inkt (i thought it was white in the beginning) gives it a very special touch, brilliant!

lol, thanks. This was one of my first Inu pieces, I did one quick head sketch before this one, but what happened was the comic book store I go to was having an anime art contest and I had only done a few anime pieces prior and unfortunately, I had them in a briefcase that got stolen when my roommate moved out. So I found out about the contest on Thursday and had to have it in on Sat. All in all I'm glad I did it. Ended up getting 'Most Unique' and $20 store credit, but mostly, I'm just glad to have the artwork ;) Glad you like it :)
