Wow, I have no idea why this one took me so long, but it did. The Mardi Gras one, I understood, there was a lot of detail, but this one...well, I suppose bats and wings count as detail
At any rate, retro-ized Morrigan Aensland from the Darkstalkers/Vampire Savior/Marvel vs. Capcom/Pocket & Puzzle Fighter games and Night Warriors anime. As some of you know, I love bats, so the first time I saw her character design, I just thought it was fantastic. I think it was the little wings on the head that sold me Ever since I did the re-designed painting of her ( [link] ) I've been meaning to do another piece with her traditional look. The other night *Jasmeralda and ~ Jarod-the-Stampede had gotten together and while we were eating, this came out. I don't know what on earth inspired it at that particular moment, but I've given up trying to to figure out a logical pattern to my work...
If you are going to be at AnimeExpo this summer, I got my confirmation so I will have this for sale at my table in Artists Alley. If you end up looking for it, last year, Artists Alley was in the room where you register apart from the main sales floor, but they never seem to do anything the same way twice, so I guess we'll see.
Medium: Original sketch drawn over in Photoshop with the pen tool, not vectors since the lines and shapes rasterize. It is similar process, but by devart definitions, anything that rasterizes is not vector art. Details added with brush tool.
The character of Morrigan is copyright Capcom.
