*Note: Not Vector Art. See media description*

A stylized self-portrait. Just recently, I had to quit my job of the last 6 years to make more time for school and building my portfolio. It was the right choice, but still a hard one to make. It's like dropping your safetynet. I kept being reminded of the 1930's Hollywood hopeful taking the train out of the midwest with just a suitcase and her dreams. Well, I've got more than a suitcase, but that was the closest way I could come to expressing the feeling of change. We always talk about the crossroads in our life and I know this is one for me. I just have to do what it takes to make this a good one ;)

Medium: Original sketch drawn over in Photoshop with the pen tool, not vectors since the lines and shapes rasterize. It is similar process, but by devart definitions, anything that rasterizes is not vector art. Details added with brush tool.

Actually, no, though I suppose I should have ;) I drew more from 42nd Street (no punn intended ;) )

thats totally awsome! Change is scarey, but it'll all work out in the end ^.^

I will fight by your side until the last drop of blood runs from my veins...

Looks like Roxie Hart, or least reminds me of. ^^

I haven't faced the crossroads in my life yet, and I don't know if I will. I can say right now that I am a very rigid person, and do not invite change with open arms.

lol, that's how I've been trying to get my hair to stay for the last 4 years or so, but it really doesn't hold the curl well at all, even with a perm.
:iconrebelangel14:
Makes you wonder how Renee got her hair like that. BTW, I'm currently listening to the Chicago soundtrack while typing this. Coincidence? *shrug*

"There is a fine line between coincidence and fate..." sorry, couldn't help quoting Mummy there :aww:

Well, she had a team of hairstylists everyday. If I had a team of people working on me everyday, I might be able to pull it off better ;) Hmm... *makes a note on her x-mas list* ;)

I love this picture, it reminds my strangely of the story off Anne shirley, when she first arrived by train, sitting there with hat quite like that on her suitcase :)

Aww, so pretty and poignant! Love that idea of the 30s hopeful-starlet, just like you too shall emerge as a starlet from this hard decision. Not that you weren't already a starlet. :glomp:
