Artist's Comments

I did the sketch for this piece almost exactly one year ago during a break in my animal/wildlife drawing class. My intention was to finish it out with ink and guache paint, but with one thing and another, it never got done. Well, I've been seeing a lot of Zelda stuff lately and I figured it was a sign I should get off my you know what and finish it ;)

Princess Zelda, Ocarina of Time version done in the Art Nouveau style. I thought gold ink would be perfect for her, but I ran into trouble because of all the gold accents on her clothes and jewelry. I tweaked it in Photoshop so they don't blur together so much, but were I to tackle this again, I don't think I'd use the gold ink.

Media: Gold acrylic calligraphers ink on bristol board with guache paint with accents in Photoshop.

The character of Zelda is copyright Nintendo

Oh, it's lovely! The colors you used are so warm and royal-looking. (Gold and purple! Yay!) It does become a little hard to see your wonderful linework around her hair and jewelry, but it's really outstanding even at that.

Wow. This is amazing. It would be AWESOME if you could make this into a stained glass window!
