What happens when you watch Fantasia 2000 while looking at a Mucha calendar and attempting to draw Corpse Bride art? Well, in a word, this...

I was specifically requested to do a piece with the Corpse Bride and the butterflies (no, that's not an open invitation to send in requests ). I thought it would be fun to do a rendition of her when she's only recently deceased (a little more whole, if you will), and so there she is by that fated oak tree, still lamenting the life and love that was lost.

Like I said, I was watching Fantastia 2000 when I did the initial sketch, so I think subconsciously, a lot of Spring Sprite influence got in there, but it works, so I won't complain. Also, looking at that Mucha calendar, it really inspired me to try working with some different and specific color palates, so this is kindof attempt 1. Obviously, there is room to improve, but it was fun to play with none the less Unfortunately, the monitor I am using is a little wonky, so I may need to adjust the contrast a bit when I get it back to my own computer, so if you see it pop up in your box a second time, my appologies in advance.
