I've been meaning to do this piece for awhile, but finally got to it tonight (mainly to procrastinate on my Maya work some more). A loving tribute the great Japanese illustrator Yoshitaka Amano, probably best known for his work in development for the Final Fantasy game series, though he has worked on many other projects. If you don't know his work, run a quick web search. You should come up with pleanty of results and it's definately worth checking out. I won't be so arrogant as to say I think I've faithfully recreated his style, just as I said, paid a respectful (I hope) tribute to it.
Pictured is Yuna and Valefort from Final Fantasy X. It's a very poinent moment in the game (if you haven't played it, I won't spoil it for you) but it seemed like a moment thet lended itself perfectly to Amano's style.
Medium: Pencil sketch colored in Photoshop.
